Part 3 - The Nutritional Values

With the previously mentioned versatile ingredients it is not very difficult to create an optimal shake once you have in mind what you go for.

The macro energy split

We aimed to the target criteria as set by the EFSA. Their criteria favor a very high carbohydrate profile. Our population wishes a bit more proteins and a bit less carbohydrates, and ended with the following distribution for the energy profiles.

Nutritional Values

100 gram contains exactly 400 kcal. This varies slightly with the several different flavors.

The Vitamins & Minerals

At least 20% of the required daily amount (RDA) in each and every 400 kcal

The Ingredients

The above list of nutritional values, energy profiles, vitamins and minerals were possible as a result of combining the following ingredients:

Varied Complex Carbohydrates mix:

Organic Buckwheat meal,
Oatmeal (gluten),
Organic Amaranth meal,
Organic Quinoa meal,
Arabic gum (actually just a fiber)

contribute to the carbohydrates and fibers, but also to fats, proteins (10 gram) and the 0.8 grams of sugar per 400 kcal

Soy protein isolate or Whey protein concentrate: the additional protein source

Sunflower oil*: the additional fats source

Linseed meal: the additional Omega 3 source

Vitamin & mineral mix*

Emulsifier: Organic Sunflower lecithin

Texture improver: Guar & Xanthan gum,

Anti-caking powder: Silicium dioxide,

Sweetener: Sucralose (0,018%).

flavoring specific: vanilla flavor: natural vanilla aroma; Chocolate-flavor: Natural vanilla aroma, cocoa powder; Coconut-choco-flavor: rasped coconut meat, natural coconut-aroma, cocoa powder; Hazelnut-chocolate flavor: natural hazelnut aroma, cocoa powder.

*Maltodextrine is a carrier for these ingredients
