Nutrition data & usage instructions

Buckwheat meal

carbohydrates, proteins, fibers

This delicious ingredient has a nutty taste and is rich in complex  carbohydrates. This is the reason why  it is referred to as a pseudocereal (amongst amaranth and quinoa).

A very interesting fact about buckwheat is that it contains all essential amino acids in its high protein content. The carbohydrates are complex with a high fiber content which makes its satiety index also high.

Buckwheat contains several vitamins we need in higher amounts. Besides this it contains  a substance called Fagopyrins. This substance has shown to have an anti-depressive effect!

Almond meal

carbohydrates, proteins, fats

Almond is delicious and a nutritionally dense ingredient that is a rich source of oil and again a source of complex carbohydrates along with fibers and proteins.

Almonds also provide a substantial amount of the daily required amount of vitamins B and several essential minerals.

Almond meal has a glycemic index of 1. Compare this to the indices of 71 for whole wheat flour or 98 for rice flour.

Almond meal is glutenfree, but it is a potential allergen as a nut.

Soy Protein Isolate

proteins, emulgator

Soy protein isolate is a purified form of soy protein which has all the essential aminoacids.

It has a neutral and smooth flavor that enhances the smoothness of the whole meal shake. Furthermore it functions as an emulsifier to make the powders mix well in water.

Linseed Meal

fats (omega-3), fibers, proteins

The linseed that has been in use by humans since before the invention of time, is not only used because of its great taste and nutritious value, but especially for the Omega 3 fatty acids.

Xanthan & Guar gums

emulgator, powder instantizer

An emulgator holds together two materials that do not stay naturally together. Think of water and fat.

The combination of these two gums perform superiorly to keep the nutty pieces in the suspension. (nuts pieces in the watery substance instead of at the bottom of your shaker). Also giving the drink a smooth and soft mouthfeel.

Vegan Vitamins & Minerals

micronutrients

All twenty seven vitamins and minerals mentioned in EU regulation 1169/2011 annex XIII, part A, table 1, have been included in Powder Matter. The twenty three specified minerals and vitamins in the EU regulation 2016/1413 that specifies that a meal should contain at least 30% of the amounts of the mentioned vitamins and minerals for it to be labeled as a meal-replacement-food, is a subset of it.

Rosemary Extract

anti oxidant

Rosemary extract improves the shelf life by preventing oxidation of fats in the powdered mix.

Natural Aromas

almond and other Nuts

To enhance the nutty tasts of buckwheat, almond and linseed, we included a couple of aromas to turn the nuttiness to a mania!

Silicon dioxide

anti caking agent

Our powder likes to stick together. We We add silicon dioxide to make Powder Matter better accessible for added water. This prevents a clump of powder on the bottom of your shaker.

thaumatin

Thaumatin

protein based sweetener
2000 times as sweet as sugar… Thaumatin is a protein that is derived from a tree called katemfe (Thaumatocococcus danielli) growing in west Africa. It has been used for ages by  the local people. It is processed in the same way as other proteins by our body and does not have a single negative effect that sugar has on us. Neither does it have the terrible taste of other natural sweeteners such as stevia or Luo Han Guo (Monk fruit).
